My Thoughts or Думи Мої, is a famous poem by Poet Laureat of Ukraine Taras Shevchenko. Shevchenko was a patriot who was exiled from his homeland for refusing to deny or stifle his Ukrainian heritage. This re-imagined production from Kyiv takes the spirit of Shevchenko and his poem, “My Thoughts” and look at the thoughts of the Ukrainian people through art and dance. What do Ukrainians and those of Ukrainian heritage think about love, children, faith, the spirit of Ukraine and their hopes for the people. Local artists and members of the community collaborate with Kyiv for this unique and moving performance.
Kyiv is working with Ukrainian community to give a voice to THEIR thoughts about Ukraine - her people, faith, culture and future.
Choreographed to the words of Taras Shevchenko. This new work by Kyiv's Atistic Director Natalie Kapeluck will set the tone for this production!
